It's 4 a.m. - the airwaves above Normal, CA crackle with Hetty Counts' far-out conspiracy theories. Working nights, she fails to notice the entire town has turned red, white and blue in support of Bush's tidy Persian Gulf War. When son Jimmy returns from Operation Desert Storm - proud of freeing Kuwait, bursting with patriotism and carrying an old battered Arab lamp as a souvenir - he receives a hero's welcome from everyone but... his mother!
