Struggling project-born comix artist Neville despairs: will he ever find a publisher for his alter ego character "Revenger Rat," a giant mutant rat who eats lying politicians and other purveyors of untruth? A tobacco company publicist sniffs out Revenger Rat as the perfect image to boost the teen smoking market, and makes Neville an offer he can't resist--she'll get his comix published and distributed across the nation, if he'll make one tiny little change: in each frame, Revenger must be smoking a Duke cigarette. Neville takes the bait, comix sales soar as Revenger clobbers the authorities, and tens of thousands of young teenage comix fans take up smoking. |
