Dear Friends,
October 9, 2013

The warm October days are yielding to mare's tails skies. Sunsets are magnificent, mornings are brisker and holiday décor is taking up major real estate in stores as 2013 begins its wind down. Meanwhile the boneheads in Congress are celebrating the seasonal change with a federal government shutdown. Really? But here at the Troupe, we are anything but shutdown. Six months ago we thought about cancelling our summer show. But with your tremendous support and encouragement we had a successful summer on a variety of fronts. The idea of two plays in one was welcomed as was our series of community forums with environment activists. Held in our studio, in parks and on the road, these forums have stimulated a plan to continue them year round as an informative call to activism. With the paralysis in Washington creating a democracy in traction, it is clear that the people (that would be us) have to take it back. So come 2014, the Troupe will be sending that message out louder and clearer than ever. Until then, Troupers are busy with a variety of projects (see below). Have a safe Halloween. Don't forget to vote on Nov 5th. And once again accept our deep gratitude for helping us turn a challenging time into a successful season. Collectively, you all continue to rock! Always in Solidarity, The San Francisco Mime Troupe & Staff
