Happy New Year everyone, and thank you for all your support in 2015! Be sure to read to the bottom of this newsletter for a full update on our Winter Appeal status and a matching donation challenge! | | | | | ~At our Troupe Studio~ APOLOGY TO A WHALE: Words to Mend a World Cecile Pineda will visit the Mime Troupe to talk about what prompted her to write her recently published Apology to a Whale: Words to Mend a World. Her research led her to make surprising discoveries about what there is about our minds that is killing our planet, and how that relates to the militarism, hierarchy and patriarchy which govern our society. Q & A will follow, prompting a lively discussion; books will be available for purchase on a sliding scale. Read more about this event! Date:Saturday, Jan. 23

Follow Special Agent Christian White on a cheerfully creepy tour of declassified government surveillance documents. White probes the redacted (blacked-out) texts of the FBI's notorious Counterintelligence Programs, searching for the words erased in the name of the Freedom of Information Act.
Learn fun techniques for the infiltration of activist groups, how to earn benefits and a pension as an agent provocateur, and how to, in the words of J. Edgar Hoover, "expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit or otherwise neutralize" your neighbors! Read on! Date: Feb 12th & 13th (reception after the show on the 13th)

Winter Appeal Update!
Again, THANK YOU all who donated in 2015! Our winter appeal received a much needed boost in the final days of 2015 and this is where we stand now: - Winter Appeal to date = $25,126
- General Donations (same span) = $5,983
- Monthly Recurring Donations (same span) = $1,155
- Total to date = $32,264

| | | Youth Theater Project (YTP)
YTP is an after-school program for Bay Area teens running from February 1 - May 3. Students learn stage production, acting, playmaking, improvisation and participants will receive an incentive based on their full participation! Internship hours are: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 4.15pm-7.15pm. The YTP culminates in a fully produced performance of original plays in late April/Early May under the guidance of experienced SFMT teachers, directors and designers.

The Colored Museum
Michael Gene Sullivan & Velina Brown, along with SFMT veteran Edris Copper-Anifowoshe and Bay Area luminary L. Peter Callender will be co-directing George C. Wolfe's modern classic The Colored Museum at the African-American Shakespeare Company.

Deal with the Dragon
You may recall Kevin Rolston who played half of the leading couple in the SFMT's Making a Killing, portraying a gay soldier trying to tell the truth about profiteering during the Iraq war, and he played, among others, Sister JesusMaryJoseph in our tour of the show GodFellas. Kevin will premiere his one-man play Deal with the Dragon. And Trouper Karen Runk will be stage managing this production. Read on. March 25 - April 16
