Level Five
This Wednesday July 19, the San Francisco Mime Troupe in partnership with Greenaction and 3rd Street Youth are proud to present the world premiere of "Level Five", a short play written and performed by Bayview youth.
Free and open to the public, the performance begins at 6 pm at the start of the bi-monthly Greenaction task force meeting at the Bayview Opera House, 4705 3rd Street, San Francisco. No RSVP needed.
The youth wrote the play collaboratively after Greenaction taught them the scary environmental history of the Bayview/Hunters' Point area and the real stories of brave local activists who have won long battles fighting giant forces like PG & E.
The youth who are participants at 3rd Street Youth Center have been meeting regularly with members of the Mime Troupe and Greenaction and honing their stage skills while absorbing the concept of environment racism. Come for the show and stay for the meeting and see how you can also reverse the neighborhood's toxic trends that have plagued the southeastern corner of our city for over a century.

The Mathematics of Love
The Mathematics of Love takes place in the lobby of the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel at the turn into the 21st century. Peaches, an aging, mid-staged Alzheimers, Mexican woman awaits the arrival of her out-of-town son, "God." Enter the 16th century Native female slave-turned-slaveholder, Malinche, whose satirical presence digs up the dirt of a once Tongva landscape, the nagging disquiet of those "Old San Gabriel Mission Days," and an unreconciled story between mother and daughter.
