Dear Troupers,

If it seems that summer is speeding by faster than an Olympic athlete, you're right! As you check through your "Must-Do Before Labor Day" list, make sure The Mime Troupe is right on top. Although we're not performing synchronized diving, we are performing in a variety of events around the Bay Area.

Maintaining our half century record of longest running theatrical company occupying Bay Area parks, we will continue to perform "For The Greater Good, or The Last Election" through September 3rdTomorrow and Sunday, Aug 4 & 5, we'll be flexing our performing muscles at Live Oak Park in Berkeley, where we hope to medal in double-takes and song & dance.

We will finish our season with out of town shows September 7, 8 & 9 in Nevada City, Davis and Sacramento, respectively. (See full schedule below.)

Other events include our staged reading of Michael Gene Sullivan's "A Christmas Carol" and an evening of 2 original short plays written and performed by this summer's workshop participants. (More info below.)

Don't sit on the sidelines, come and cheer us on as we head into the final legs of the season!

In Continued Solidarity,

The San Francisco Mime Troupe

A Mime Troupe Christmas

Joyous carolers, dancing in glee.

A fundraiser for the San Francisco Mime Troupe's Winter 2012 production of a new, Occupy-inspired adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"...

The Tony Award-winning, never silent, always off-center Mime Troupe presents a staged reading of a new, worker-oriented interpretation of Dickens' story of poverty, redemption, and humanity. Set in a contemporary Occupy encampment, written by SFMT Resident Playwright Michael Gene Sullivan, and featuring Troupe veterans Velina Brown (FOR THE GREATER GOOD, POSIBILIDAD, TOO BIG TO FAIL), Lisa Hori-Garcia (POSIBILIDAD, TOO BIG TO FAIL, RED STATE), Michael Gene Sullivan (2012: THE MUSICAL!, TOO BIG TO FAIL, POSIBILIDAD, Bob Ernst (RED STATE, COAST CITY CONFIDENTIAL), Brian Rivera (POSIBILIDAD, DOING GOOD), and Noah Butler (RED STATE, DOING GOOD), this adaptation tells the classic story from the worker's perspective. Exuberant and sobering, full of folk songs, rousing labor anthems, and delivered with the Troupe's particular brand of scathing political satire, this "Carol"  reclaims Dickens from the one percent, and brings his message back to the people!

(Read the L.A. Times article about this adaptation.)

Afterwards there will be a reception with live music by the San Francisco Mime Troupe Band! Get your tickets now, because there are only 120 shopping days left before... The Revolution!
